About the event

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of sculpting creatures at InCLAYsive Play Day! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this event is perfect for unleashing your creativity and having a blast with clay in an inclusive, accessible environment.

  • Date Options: Sun Oct 08 and 22, 2023
  • Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Location: 8691 La Mesa Boulevard, La Mesa, CA 91942

Get ready to dive into the world of sculpting as we guide you through the process of creating your very own creatures. Local clay artist and Revision Creative Mentor Lindsay Miller will provide step-by-step instructions and share tips and tricks to help you bring your imagination to life.

During the event, you'll have access to enough clay for a single project, a variety of underglaze colors, and tools to experiment with. Whether you want to sculpt a cute animal, a mythical creature, or something entirely unique, the choice is yours!

Not only will you have the opportunity to create amazing sculptures, but you'll also get to meet and connect with fellow clay enthusiasts of all abilities. Share ideas, learn from each other, and make new friends in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

So, mark your calendars and join us for a day of creativity, laughter, and fun at the InCLAYsive Play Day - Sculpting Creatures. Don't miss out on this exciting chance to bring your imagination to life!

Held at and in collaboration with Revision Creative Workspace, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide inclusive access to art, culture, social practice and environmental education through the framework of a creative workspace. Blended session with Revision resident artists and the public.

TICKET OPTIONS

We recommend starting with a Make & Take ticket type, then you can add the Glaze ticket type at a future event if you would like a little more time with your project.

  • Make & Take - Make your creature, then we'll fire it and glaze it for you. Includes clay, offsite firing, access to shared tools and underglazes, and take home project (allow 4-6 weeks for pickup).
  • Just Make - A chance to practice and play with clay. Includes access to shared tools, and clay that you will leave with us to be recycled for other projects. A great option if you want to enjoy the feel of clay with sensory play (no need to follow along with project instruction), just want to practice, or want a greener option that doesn't require you to take what you make.
  • Glaze - For those who already came to one of our Make & Take events, and wanted a little extra time to work on your project. You will not receive any new clay, but can continue to work on a project you've stored or had bisque fired with us. Access to shared tools, underglazes, and glazes. Please only book this experience if you selected "bisque firing" on a previous project tag and have been informed your bisqueware is ready, or selected to store your project unfired for later work.
